She graduated from North Dallas High School in 1946 and married Burton Rollings, Jr. in 1948. He preceded her in death on February 7, 2013 after 65 years of marriage. By 1952, she was the devoted mother of 3 children: Bobby, Barbara and Patty. Theresa served as Cub Scout Mother, room mother and PTA officer at T.L. Marsalis Elementary School for many years, always making her children feel special. She made her home a place where friends and family loved to visit. For many years, she was active in the Dallas Coaches' Wives Assoc. and in St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church. In 1960, she began a 31-year career as a sales representative for Jack Housman, Inc. (imports) at the Dallas Trade Mart. While there, she further developed her natural ability to make something beautiful out of something common, especially in the area of home decorating.
After retiring in 1991, she and Burton enjoyed traveling, and they took many fun vacations with friends. Together they also enjoyed following their grandchildren's sport endeavors. Since both Burton and Bobby played basketball at SMU, Theresa and Burton especially looked forward to attending and supporting the SMU basketball teams for over 40 years. Theresa was a woman of grace and kindness who looked for good in others and who expected to find it. She was quick to give compliments and words of encouragement to those around her. She leaves behind a family who loved her deeply and who will always be grateful for her influence in their lives.
