"SALLAS, Solomon Herbert, 86, died Monday at the home of a daughter. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Bethel Baptist Church, the Rev. Theo Sapp and the Rev. Ernest Walker officiating. "Solomon H. Sallas -- Funeral services for Solomon Herbert Sallas, 86, will be a 3 p.m. tomorrow at Bethel Baptist Church in Ardilla.
Mr. Sallas, of Dothan Rt. 3, died early today at the home of a daughter.
Officiating at the funeral will be the Revs. Theo Sapp and Ernest Walker. Burial will be in Memphis Church cemetery, with Johnson Funeral Home direction.
The Coffee County native was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
The body will be at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Onnie McCord, of Dothan Rt. 3 until funeral time tomorrow.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. McCord, Mrs. Maudie Savage, Florala; and Mrs. Exie Pearce, Eagle Lake, Fla.; three sons, D.H. and H.C. Sallas,, Dothan; Shelby Sallas, Portland, Oregon; 38 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren."--25 Jan 1960, The Dothan (AL) Eagle

"Magdalen "Lenny" Elender was born April 10, 1752, died September 13, 1822 in Shepherdstown, Jefferson County, West Virginia. Note: Shepherdstown is in the very northeastern corner of what is now West Viginia. This area was part of Virginia prior to the Civil War. After the death of her first husband Johann Marthin Wolfarth (Wolford) in 1780, Lenny married George Reynolds in 1781 or 1782."--Find-a-grave

"Enoch and Eleanor were the parents of ten children: John, George, James, William, Jesse, Ruth Jane, Mary Ann, Emily Carolyn, Amanda, and Elizabeth Margaret. By trade Enoch was a tanner who followed that trade until 1835 when his home burned, destroying all his records and possessions. He farmed until 1852 and in 1859 left Kentucky to join his son George Reynolds Yantis in Collin County. In that same year he served as Deputy Tax Assessor Collector for Collin County under John M. McKinney. Enoch succeeded Mr. McKinney in the office. Politically he was a Whig until the Civil War, after which he beame a staunch Democrat."--Find-a-grave
