"M. Thomasson -- Funeral services for Mrs. Maude F. Thomasson, a former resident of Leavenworth who died Friday at Kinsley where she had made her home since 1962, are tentatively set for 2 p.m. Monday in the Belden-Sexton-Sumpter Funeral Chapel at Fifth and Oak. Burial will be in Mt. Muncie Cemetery.
Mrs. Thomasson was born in Osage County July 3, 1878, a daughter of Alfred S. and Margaret Rouse Gardner. She attended Osage County schools and was married to William Lee Thomasson in 1899.
The couple moved to Leavenworth and made their home at 918 Ottawa for many years. They observed their Golden Wedding Anniversary here in 1949. Mr. Thomasson died in 1950.
Mrs. Thomasson was active in various Leavenworth organizations while she lived here, including the White Shrine, Royal Neighbors of Maerica, Rebekah Lodge, Navy Mothers Club, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary both here and at Kinsley, and the Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ethel Craft of Kinsley; two sons, Roy Thomasson, Hoquiam, Wash., and Alfred Thomasson, Leavenworth; 11 grandchildren including James A. Thomasson, 1337 Lawrence Ave.; 27 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren."--1 Dec 1974, The Leavenworth (KS) Times

"Orval Leroy Hahn LEOTI--Orval Leroy Hahn, 87, died Jan 10, 2011. He was born May 30, 1923 to August and Laura Mae Downs Hahn Jr. He married Lucille Marie Farnsworth on Dec. 13, 1941. She died Oct. 29, 2006. Survivors include: sons, Jerry and Jimmy; sister, Dorothy Bishop; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

"Orval Leroy Hahn, 87, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, at the Wichita County Long Term Care Center in Leoti.
He was born May 30, 1923, in Leoti, to August Jr. and Laura Mae Downs Hahn.
A lifetime resident of Leoti, Mr. Hahn was a farmer and was a retired agriculture specialist for Collingwood Inc.
On Dec. 13, 1941, he married Lucille Marie Farnsworth in Ringwood, Okla. She died Oct. 29, 2006, in Tribune. He also was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dallas Hahn; and a sister, Lois Gardner.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Hahn of Farmers Branch, Texas, and Jimmy Hahn of Leoti; a sister, Dorothy Bishop of Leoti; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

"Dorothy Bishop LEOTI--Dorothy Maxine Bishop, 88, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Wichita County Health Center Long Term Care in Leoti. She was born Nov. 26, 1924, on the family homestead in rural Kearny Coounty, to August Jr. and Laura Mae Downs Hahn.
A lifetime resident of Kearny and Wichita counties, Mrs. Bishop was a homemaker and ranch wife. On March 1, 1946, she married Leslie Merle Bishop in Leoti. He died Aug. 22, 2011, in Leoti. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren; two brothers, Dallas Hahn and Orval Hahn and a sister, Lois Gardner.
Survivors include two sons, Leslie and Larry Bishop, both of Leoti; four daughters, Janet Kasten of Skandia, Mich., Laura Median of Leot, and Barbara Ryan and Anita Ellis, both of Scott City; 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will begin at 10 am Monday at the United Methodist Church in Leoti. Burial will be at Leoti Cemetery. Visitation hours are 1 to 8 pm today and Sunday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti. In June 21, 1979 issue of the Leoti Standard. Rites For Mrs. Lois Gardner Held In First Baptist Church. Funeral services for Mrs. Merlin (Lois E.) Gardner, 52, were held at the First Baptist Church in Leoti at 2:00 pm, Friday,k June 15. Rev. Albert Snyder, Leoti paster, and Rev. Roland Teubner, Crowley, Colo, officiated. Mrs. Ron Lindberb was the organist and she accompanied Al Hatch as he sang How Great Thou Art and Nearer My God To Thee. Lois E. Gardner died Wednesday June 13, 1979 at St. Catherine Hospital, in Garden City. She was born on September 12, 1926, at Lakin, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Hahn, Jr. She grew to womanhood on the farm of her parents in southwest Kearney County. On Jan. 13, 1944, she was married to Merlin Gardner at the home of her parents. Merlin was serving with the Armed Forces in World War II at the time. She continued to live with her parents and graduated from Wichita County Community High School, Leoti, in 1944. When Merlin returned home from the service, they moved to a farm in northwest Wichita County in 1946 and had lived there since. Mrs. Gardner was a member of the First Baptist Church, Leoti. Lois was a highly respected woman and her greatest concern had always been for her family.

Hahn-Gardner Wedding. Mr and Mrs. August Hahn, Jr., announce the marriage of their daughter, Lois Eline to Sgt. Merlin M. Gardner. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Paul of Leoti on January 13 at 10:30 o'clock a.m., at the home of the bride's parents. The bride wore a gown of blue romance crepe. The bridesmaid was Dorothy Hahn, sister of the bride. The groom was attended by Orval Hahn, brother of the bride. A buffet luncheon was served at 12 o'clock. Those attending the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Gardner and Clinton, Mr. and Mrs. Orval Hahn, Miss Dorothy Hahn, Dallas Hahn and Mr. and Mrs. August Hahn, Jr. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Gardner, of the Carwood community. He is with the armed forces at Blythe, Calif., and is a young man of sterling quality. The bride is a senior in the Wichita County Community High school.
